How to create QR Codes for UTM URLs?
Besides creating QR Codes for short URLs, it’s also possible to use them for UTM-tagged URLs.
Every URL you create in Terminus with UTM codes also generates a QR code that can be used just like short URLs. Here’s how to do it:
1. Go to the URLs section in your project
Click on the QR code icon next to Fully tagged URL.
2. Download the QR code
Download a QR code file in any of the available templates, formats and sizes. You’ll notice that these QR codes are more complex than the ones for short URLs. This is because these URLs are longer and hence need more “pixels” to encode them in the QR code.
Before using it in your campaigns, test it to make sure it works correctly. You can open the downloaded file and point your phone to the screen with your camera app open. In most cases, it will allow you to visit the URL in a browser.
3. Custom QR code design (Optional)
You can use QR code templates to customize the colors and add your company logo. For more information on setting up QR code templates, visit this guide.
4. Use the QR code
Once found to be working, use it in your marketing materials including brochures, flyers, visiting cards, etc.
CAUTION:
- The QR code of these Fully Tagged URLs will change if the destination URL or any of the query parameters are changed.
- Clicks/scans won’t be counted for this URL
To prevent the above issues, use the dynamic QR code of the corresponding short URL instead.
