How to Set Up Two-Factor Authentication

About Two-Factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring two forms of identification before access is granted. This method combines something you know (your password) with something you have (a code from your phone), making it much harder for unauthorized users to access your account.

1. Setup Two-Factor Authentication

1.1 Enable Two-Factor Authentication

Two-Factor Authentication setting is located under My Profile. Click the Enable button under the Two-Factor Authentication settings.

1.2 Install a Two-Factor Authentication App

Download a 2FA app such as Authy or Google Authenticator from the App Store or Google Play.

1.3 Scan the QR Code and Verify

Open the 2FA app on your phone and use it to scan the QR code displayed on your screen.

Enter the code generated by the app into the verification field on your computer and click Verify.

1.4 Get your Backup Codes

Download or write down the backup codes provided. These codes are crucial for accessing your account if your mobile device is unavailable. Store them in a secure location; remember, each code can be used only once.

1.5 Confirmation

Once the setup is complete, you'll receive confirmation that 2FA is enabled on your account.

1.6 Logging In With 2FA

The next time you log in, you'll be prompted to enter an OTP from your 2FA app. Alternatively, you can use one of your backup codes if the app is not accessible.
